My talk on TedxYouth is an aspect of my life which I have rarely shared before. It is based on my experiences with diminished vision and the trials of working in a normal world with subnormal abilities. It is about how my struggle to achieve my life’s purpose and realise my life’s dream of being a physician was made easy by some and made more difficult and challenging by others. The stepping stones and pitfalls along the way forged in me an unusual moral strength to overcome odds to get to
where I wanted to. And….. years later… a surgery on one eye gifted me with vision I had never seen before, opening vistas which I had never imagined possible in my lifetime. The succinct message of my talk is addressed to young people to never let any event in their lives detract them from pushing to achieve their goals in life. The path to the goal may be fraught with obstacles but the end result is that many times sweeter. Ultimately, the effort is more than rewarded
