PS5 Restock Tracker: PS Direct Has A Queue Right Now - GameSpot Posted: 22 Nov 2021 04:25 PM PST Update: PS Direct has a queue right now. As always, you'll be given an estimated wait time. If you get to the front of the line before consoles sell out, you'll have the chance to buy a PS5. This is the first PS Direct queue we've seen in weeks. The PS5 has passed its first birthday, but despite impressive sales numbers, the console remains scarce. You've never been able to walk in a store and find one on shelves, and online stock is almost always sold out. With the holiday season upon us, demand for the PS5 will only go up as it gets added to a flurry of wishlists. It may be quite difficult to find a PS5 or PS5 Digital in time for the holidays, but it won't be impossible. To help you out, we've rounded up all of the retailer listings for the PS5 and PS5 Digital in one place. Each time a restock is announced or randomly pops up, we'll update this article. We see at least a couple of PS5 restocks each week at major retailers such as Best Buy, Walmart, and GameStop. Sony also has fairly regular restocks at PS Direct. But you always have to be fast (and lucky) to purchase one before stock runs out. Consoles tend to sell out in minutes, if not seconds, so it's really all about nimble fingers and good timing. PS5 restocksPS5 Digital restocksBlack Friday PS5 restocksWalmart had a Black Friday restock for the PS5 and PS5 Digital on November 22. The restock was only available for Walmart+ subscribers. It's unclear if Walmart will have more PS5 restocks for Black Friday throughout the week. GameStop will have the PS5 and PS5 Digital in stock at select stores on Thanksgiving. We're still waiting on announcements from other retailers, but we anticipate that more retailers will have the PS5 and PS5 Digital in stock for Black Friday. Keep in mind there's also the chance that PS5 restocks will be limited to paid members at select retailers in the coming weeks (like Walmart's Black Friday restock). Best Buy recently launched a $200/year membership called Totaltech, and select restocks have been limited to members. Walmart has done the same for its $98/year membership. Likewise, GameStop has made certain restocks only available to PowerUp Rewards Pro members. And, of course, Amazon could lock PS5s behind its Prime membership. Meanwhile, retailers like Costco and Sam's Club--which require memberships to shop--have always required memberships for PS5 restocks. Recent PS5 restocksBelow, you'll find the most recent PS5 restock dates at major retailers.

Apple Will Repair Faulty iPhone 12 and 12 Pro Speakers for Free - Gizmodo Posted: 22 Nov 2021 02:25 PM PST If you happen to own an iPhone 12 or 12 Pro and have recently experienced some annoying speaker issues, you may be in luck and eligible for a free Apple repair. Apple made the announcement via a blog post saying a small number of devices manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021 may experience sound issues due to a component failure on the receiver module. The free repair notably won't apply to iPhone 12 minis or iPhone 12 Pro Max models. Apple said users who own devices unable to omit sound from their receiver when they make or take calls may be eligible for the free repair. If you think this applies to you, there are a couple of ways to get your free service. Users can either use this link to find an Apple Authorized Service Provider contact, Apple Support to go the mail-in service route, or simply make an appointment at a retail store. The news comes on the heels of a major, and somewhat unexpected concession from the company in the fight for independent technicians to be allowed to repair devices. In that case, Apple announced it was creating a new Self Service Repair program that would see Apple sell parts and tools needed for repairs to independent technicians as well as the general public, a long-time demand of Right to Repair advocates. That move marked a departure for the company which had previously held an ironclad grip over repairs and placed stiff penalties on technicians who used non-sanctioned Apple products. In its announcement, Apple said the first phase of that program would focus on "the most common service modules" like displays, batteries, and cameras, with the ability for additional repairs in the coming year. "Creating greater access to Apple genuine parts gives our customers even more choice if a repair is needed," Apple's Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams said in a statement. The Self Service Repair announcement came one week after Apple announced it would release a software update that would make it easier for independent technicians to repair iPhone 13s without ruining the FaceID feature. |
