The Morning After: Apple lines up a MacBook event for November 10th - Engadget Posted: 03 Nov 2020 04:19 AM PST Yes, it's already that time of year. After you've voted/made sure your absentee ballot has been received (for our readers in the US), you can watch the results come in, or… do pretty much anything else. That includes perusing the first sections of our 2020 holiday gift guide, covering advice on tech products for kids, the best laptops and tablets around, PC gaming-related items and accessories for computers and phones. Just a thought. — Richard Lawler There's another Apple event comingIt's probably about Macs.Apple has already held two virtual events this fall, but the company isn't done yet. Next Tuesday, November 10th, the company will be holding an event appropriately called One More Thing. Given that the iPad, Apple Watch and iPhone were the stars of the last events, it seems likely that this one will focus on the Mac. More specifically, we might get our first look at a Mac running Apple Silicon that people can actually buy. According to reports from Bloomberg, we could see three new Macs with Apple-made processors: new 13-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros and a new 13-inch MacBook Air. Sources say the designs won't change — just the internal specs will. The event kicks off, remotely again, at 10AM PT / 1PM ET, and we'll be covering all the news live as it happens. DualSense teardown exposes the gears behind Sony's 'adaptive triggers'And, yes, it has a bigger battery than the DualShock 4.One of the PS5's most intriguing features is its controller's capability to make you feel various in-game scenarios with its adaptive triggers. Now, TronicsFix has pulled a DualSense controller apart to give us a look at how those adaptive triggers work and at the device's other inner components. The video shows how the trigger system uses several gears to change its resistance, allowing it to simulate different sensations. Perhaps just as importantly (or more, in my opinion), the teardown notes that the DualSense has a bigger battery in comparison to the PS4's DualShock 4 controller. ASUS ZenBook Flip S review: An OLED beauty with a few flawsThis is just the start for this year's ultraportables. The ZenBook Flip S has almost everything we'd want in a next-generation laptop, with a gorgeous 4K OLED screen and some decent horsepower thanks to Intel's Xe integrated graphics. It also lacks a headphone jack and has some old-school large bezels around the screen. Apple TV will be available on Xbox consoles next weekThe Series S, Series X and Xbox One are all getting the app.We already heard the PS5 is getting an Apple TV app, so naturally, Microsoft is doing something similar. Microsoft is announcing its partnership with Apple for the new Xboxes: As of next week, the app will be available on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. This means Xbox owners will be able to check out Apple TV+ original content, provided they pony up for the $5 per month subscription. In a somewhat surprising move, Apple is letting Xbox users sign up for the service directly in the Apple TV app. Beyond Apple TV+, the app also lets you access any movies or TV shows you've bought through Apple's store over the years and will also link up with a variety of other apps and channels, including those from Showtime, CBS All Access, AMC+ and a bunch of others. But wait, there's more...Google Pixel Slate owners are reporting serious memory failures What's on TV this week: 'Game of Thrones' 4K and 'NFS: Hot Pursuit Remastered' Twitter will add warning labels to tweets with premature election results 'Among Us' update adds anonymous voting. First Hands-On With iPhone 12 MagSafe Leather Cases Shared Online - MacRumors Posted: 03 Nov 2020 05:23 AM PST The first hands-on video and images of Apple's iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro leather cases have been shared online by German site Macerkopf. The video and images were reportedly sent to Macerkopf by a reader who obtained a selection of cases early. One case for each of the three device sizes, encompassing the iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 mini, are shown in Black and Saddle Brown. The cases appear to be mostly similar to Apple's leather cases from previous years, with metal buttons and a soft-touch interior, but with the exception of a ring on the inside of the case to indicate MagSafe's array of magnets. The leather cases also seem to fully cover the bottom of the device like Apple's new silicone cases for added protection. Although Apple's clear and silicone cases for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro have been on sale for some time, the leather cases have not yet been made available to customers. Apple's full selection of leather cases with MagSafe for the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be available from this Friday, alongside pre-orders of the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max. |
Nintendo Reveals The Top 15 Most-Downloaded Switch Games In October 2020 (Europe) - Nintendo Life Posted: 03 Nov 2020 04:00 AM PST Ryan can list the first 151 Pokémon all in order off by heart – a feat he calls his 'party trick' despite being such an introvert that he'd never be found anywhere near a party. He'd much rather just have a night in with Mario Kart and a pizza, and we can't say we blame him. |
